Lufthansa Technik Malta: Services & Products
Base Maintenance – Long haul aircraft
As from 2008, Lufthansa Technik Malta (LTM) has extended its services and is now carrying out heavy maintenance checks (C and D Checks) on Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft types, serving international customers.
In the two wide-body hangars with 17,000 square meters, two aircraft can be overhauled simultaneously. In both hangars, aircraft can be painted on the spot without being pulled into a special painting hangar, saving time and money. A state-of-the-art ventilation system avoids paint being splashed on surrounding workshops. Also it keeps dangerous gases from being emitted into the atmosphere. Numerous workshops, for example for non-destructive testing, cabin interiors and flight controls are located on the company premises with 8,000 square meters.
Lufthansa Technik Malta offers extensive back shop repair and overhaul capabilities (galleys, lavatories, passenger and flight crew seats), entertainment and avionics modifications, exterior and interior painting, and structural repair programs.
Lufthansa Technik Malta employs over 450 highly qualified people, who are mainly trained in Malta, Philippines and HAM and deliver premium product.
LTM’s capabilities consist of a complete range of base maintenance services such as cabin modification, C-Checks, C4-Checks and C8-Checks utilising modern facilities that include two dedicated A330/A340 production lines.
Base Maintenance – Short haul aircraft
Since start of operation in January 2003, Lufthansa Technik Malta provides Base Maintenance services for Lufthansa as well as numerous other third party customers on Airbus A320 (Classics & New Generation) family and Boeing 737. In its brand new narrow body hangar covering a footprint of 6,000 square meters, three aircraft can be maintained simultaneously at Lufthansa Technik Malta.
LTM’s highly skilled mechanics, engineers and support personnel utilise the most advanced technology and proven procedures in the maintenance, repair and overhaul industry today, and are backed by Lufthansa Technik’s 30-year experience in handling over 100 line maintenance customers worldwide.
In addition to the EASA Maintenance Organisation Approvals, LTM holds certifications from other national aviation authorities.
