A320 Main Landing Gear Rib 5 Fitting modification and replacement at LTM

During Dec 2011, LTM performed a main landing gear rib 5 modifications and replacement on a 13 year old airbus A320 aircraft which was undergoing scheduled maintenance in one of its hangars. The refit involves several complex engineering tasks to re-assure structural integrity once the aircraft is returned to operation. Although LTM had carried repairs on the rib 5 structure in the past this significant structural refit was the first to be carried out by LTM maintenance team.
